Imagine the world we could create...

If all of us, including those in our government, lived from a place of compassion, can you imagine the world we could create?

Our children are rising and I stand with them...

We live in an new era. Our children are rising up and want a world of their creation. Watch out those who are driven by money, these young people are driven by justice and compassion for all. And, I stand with them.

Run the White House like a first grade classroom...

I suppose I should apologize for constantly comparing the White House to a First Grade Classroom. John McCutcheon's song is true, everything we need to know we learn in Kindergarten. Hmmmm, that song will make a good postcard!

Degrading our planet is a criminal offense...

Allowing the continued degradation of our planet should be considered a criminal offense. Ignoring the scientific evidence and encouraging oil, coal, and gas consumption should also be treated as a crime.

The death penalty is not the solution...

If the death penalty is applied to drug dealers, look out. Every decision made by our governmental agencies that cause death by pollution, global warming, war mongering, pesticide use, and chemical poisoning should be held to the same standard.

We have to do something, or else....

The problem is threefold: 1) We are waiting for someone else to solve the problem; 2) In "my backyard" there still is very little evidence of the problem allowing me to bury my head; 3) It is such a huge problem, it actually seems unsolvable; 4) No one is being open and honest about what we have to do and what we have to give up for there to be any hope at all. However, doing nothing and burying our heads insures that we have a limited time on this planet. We all, everyone of us, have to do something, or else....

It is my money, not yours or theirs.

These are the very people who argue for a smaller government. Yet, they spend my tax dollars as if the money was theirs to do with as they like. If you are going to fire anyone, fire those who misuse my money.

What will it take for us to learn?

It is hard for me to see that we are fighting the same battles we thought we won in the 60's. What will it take for us to learn?

"You're fired!" is not how to lead.

Any CEO knows there can be no loyalty if people are not respected for their work and are constantly afraid that any misstep will get them fired.

Bob Dylan said it all in 1963!

Nothing more for me to say. These words of Bob Dylan say it all.

You just are not listening!

Again and again you say there is no support for sensible gun legislation. You are so wrong! America, in a loud and united voice is telling you what we want our elected leaders to do. You just are not listening. It can't be more clear. American voters want effective gun legislation and we will get rid of anyone who doesn't comply.

Oh, happy day!

Maybe, at last, men who feel they are above legal and moral standards will hesitate before assuming they can "do anything they darn well please". Oh, happy day!

Our stolen Democracy...

It is not the first time, and certainly it won't be the last, for me to call out the NRA for influencing our legislative bodies toward their financial gain. Citizens United has stolen our democracy from the people.

Put them in a room to duke it out...

Trump, Kim, Putin, and various other leaders in the Middle East, South America, and Africa, all ready to go to war against just about anybody. This is certainly not the world I hoped to pass along to my grandchildren. Perhaps they should all be put into a room and let them duke it out. It would be a lot safer for the rest of us.

Tariffs will come out of our pockets...

It just sounds like more money for the wealthy and less for the people. It might make sense if we were not being asked to also pay for our many wars around the world, very expensive health care and drugs, filling privatized prisons, and a war on the very people who work in the fields to feed us. A guaranteed living wage would be a good start as well.

For our granddaughters' sakes...

One can only hope. It would change the world if women, no matter nationality, skin color, or economic status, were treated as equals. That would be a world I would be proud to hand off to my granddaughters.

Use taxes to benefit the people...

Or, is the goal to privatize what we have come to think our taxes should pay for? I want my taxes spent on infrastructure, safety nets, schools, and a military that can defend us. They should not be spent to give profits to the wealthy.

Nuclear warfare is not an option...

Threats are not innocent. They carry the weight of what is being threatened. Instead, we should be doing everything we can to make certain that nuclear warfare is not an option. No one will survive if this threat is carried out.

Work for a pittance and die hungry...

The goal of Democratic Capitalism across the world has been to privatize public utilities and services. With privatization, a few will become wealthy and the rest of us will work for a pittance and die hungry.

Our founders would be horrified....

Our founders never thought that they were creating a government where nothing would get accomplished because political parties would sit with their arms crossed and their mouths closed, refusing to work on making and keeping America "of the people, for the people, and by the people". They would be horrified to see that we have moved closer to a dictator model of governance.

We are the voice of America!

Money has become the voice of America. Polls, surveys, and voting makes it clear that Americans want their votes to carry the weight of our country, not the money of a few greedy people. We want our government and our country to reflect us, not a few rich donors in ivory castles.

On one hand, I will take any change these young people make to reduce the danger of gun violence in our country. On the other hand, I hope they have the drive and the durability to not stop there. I will stand with and support these young people, and all the young people in our country, to bring justice, equity, and community to all. Cheers!

The NRA is whining...

The true colors of the NRA are waving in the wind. They have spent millions, probably billions, of dollars to make sure they are the top priority of those we elect to lead our country. Now they are whining that they are not getting what they paid for. My feeling? Too bad! It is time to put our children and our voters ahead of the NRA.
