This is the last postcard. It is a rant and I signed off in disgust. I am wrestling with myself as there was so much in today's news that was worthy of a confined rant. (confined as limited to a postcard.) but I am going to wean myself from them and am going to find other ways to work for a better world. It is, you know, up to us! to all of you who followed me and shared the postcards. I humbly thank you. Perhaps we made a difference. I sincerely hope we did.
With warmth and love and hope, I sign off.... warmly, Dianne

We seem to have lost the feeling of being a united nation. I plan to send a postcard each day to our new President sharing what drives me through my days, what I want for this country, and what I want our nation to stand for. You are free to comment. I hope you will comment with generosity and civility. Please respect the intent of this effort. Thank you, Dianne

I hope we can recover...
How have we come to a place where our President works only for the benefit of himself and his wealthy cronies? He has done nothing to benefit our country or our world. It will take years to untangle the web of greed and poor character. The office of president has been degraded and stained. I hope we can recover.

3rd to last postcard....
This news sent me over the top. It is just what our president wants... shallow recognition for misguided behavior from a like-minded person. Theoretically, it is not the worst thing he has done, but I responded with rage for the evil that has been done to the Palestinians.

I have reached my limit!
This morning I read in the paper about the Golan Heights Settlement being named for Trump and went over the edge. I carried anger with me all day and then wrote my last four postcards to the man who holds the office of president of our country. The postcards, though generally still civil are rants filled with rage.

Joy comes from the others in our lives...
I love this idea. Joy comes from our connections with others. We can change our lives and change the world by making connections. I love it!

It is up to us!
A stable future depends on all sides working together to make a safe place for all of us to live. Either we all work to make our country safe, or we will all live in a place of terror. It is up to us!

This is a case where innocence or guilt are assumed by careful observation. My assumption may not hold up in court, but it will certainly educate my vote.

We have to change how we do things or our children will be living in the worst "science fiction world" we could ever imagine. Now is the time!

It is not our job to threaten
It may very well be that Nicolás Maduro is a terrible president, but it is not our job to threaten him and decide who should be president in his place.

Interesting theory...genetic fear
Interesting theory. Maybe, hidden in our primitive DNA, there is a bit of genetic fear that immigrants will do the same to us as our ancestors did over the last 400 years.

America's public lands belong to Americans...
America's public lands belong to Americans, not to the highest bidder. There is no justice in selling our lands to the rich for pennies on the dollar.

Anti-American and unforgivable...
It is outrageous that this man ran for president defending the protection of our public lands, only to have one of his early actions be the exact opposite. This is anti-American, anti our natural world, anti-ethical in our political system, and unforgivable.

The nature of governing....
It is amazing how easily people can use words and talk about something without really letting you know what they are talking about. This seems to be nature of governing these days.

Gruesomely reminiscent...
What is the deal? They are all bald, all in dark suits and ties, they have their hands crossed the same way, and have the same expression on their faces. It looks gruesomely reminiscent of 1940's Germany. I try not to make value judgements based on appearances, but this one is hard to ignore.

I still cannot believe this is something a president would say. It is a threat of violence and a good number of people think it is perfectly ok. Not me!

The ultimate finger of justice...
There really is no choice. We must rise up and do what is right for all life on the planet. There is no "other" choice. We can no longer wait for someone to do something. We must do it ourselves!

Obama did his best to give us a sensible health care system. The Affordable Care Act as passed by Republicans, is what we have now. What we really want is universal health care for all, with emphasis on the "all".

This is not an April Fools joke...
An intelligent and well informed friend just wrote to me that he believes there is no hope for the planet. No one is willing to give up their cars or their investments in fossil fuels or their wood furniture or plastic water bottles. Most of us would just rather stay in "la-la land" than do what is necessary. I hope, and he hopes, he is wrong. This is not an April Fools joke.

Freedom of speech is just that... free speech...
Just because our president claims people are "making outlandish and false claims with no evidence" doesn't mean he can take away their freedom of speech. Especially when the person making the most outlandish and false claims with no evidence is... himself.
