It seems that peace and safety should be our highest goals. I do not think they can be accomplished with assault weapons.

Our founders would be horrified....

Our founders never thought that they were creating a government where nothing would get accomplished because political parties would sit with their arms crossed and their mouths closed, refusing to work on making and keeping America "of the people, for the people, and by the people". They would be horrified to see that we have moved closer to a dictator model of governance.

Money has become the voice of America. Polls, surveys, and voting makes it clear that Americans want their votes to carry the weight of our country, not the money of a few greedy people. We want our government and our country to reflect us, not a few rich donors in ivory castles.

On one hand, I will take any change these young people make to reduce the danger of gun violence in our country. On the other hand, I hope they have the drive and the durability to not stop there. I will stand with and support these young people, and all the young people in our country, to bring justice, equity, and community to all. Cheers!

The NRA is whining...

The true colors of the NRA are waving in the wind. They have spent millions, probably billions, of dollars to make sure they are the top priority of those we elect to lead our country. Now they are whining that they are not getting what they paid for. My feeling? Too bad! It is time to put our children and our voters ahead of the NRA.
