Corporate money making plans....

We have essentially been involved in wars around the globe, trying to destabilize and privatize public services. The capitalistic drive from within our government, favors corporations that want to expand their markets into the global community. Of course they do not want international interference in their money making plans.

The shame is the abuser's...

I say "YES!" for the #MeToo movement. It must become the norm for our children to tell when something unjust happens to them. We must believe them and stand by them as they name their abusers. No one should have to carry the shame of their own abuse. The shame should fall on the abuser.

Begin at our own front door...

We will be defined by how we spend our tax dollars. Either we are open and inclusive or we are not. My vision for America is to be a force for justice and peace throughout the world. We can begin at our own front door.

Getting wealthy from war...

I do think that having a good defense will keep the enemy at bay. However, selling weapons of mass destruction around the globe doesn't make anyone any safer. It does make a few people a lot of money.

Pay back what has been taken...

How do we come to a place where wealthy, white, men decide that social security and medicare are entitlements that need to be ended? Every person who gets social security and medicare paid into the pot. Pay back what has been taken and strengthen the system so it is not used as a free loan source!

Lead us with justice, we will follow...

Americans and citizens from every country around the world, want what is best for our planet and for our children. If our President leads us in correcting our terrible environmental degradation, we will follow and do what is right. Just lead us in the way of justice, compassion, and equality. We will follow.

We can do this!

Keep in touch with what is happening, support candidates who address climate issues and show their activism in their daily lives. Most import do not vote for any candidate who accepts fossil fuel dollars. We can do this!

A bit of activism...

We are going to have to do it on our own. Our nation's government has made it clear it will not act to save our planet. We can begin by reducing our spending on fossil fuels. This bit of activism can be huge!

Americans will have to do it on our own...

The most amazing thing about the Paris Accord was that 100% of all the nations on our planet signed on. Every single country on the planet, except America, will be a part of correcting and cleaning up what humans have done to dirty our nest. Our country, the United States of America has placed profits over saving our planet. We will have to do this on our own, without any leadership from our government.

Truly, I thought it would never happen. A letter from the President! It is the first indication that anyone has even noticed my 604 previous postcards. More about my fancy letter in coming days.

What a job we must undertake...

We are frozen in our tracks. The changes that need to be made are huge. We thought we were creating a better world, when... unknowingly, we have been destroying our home. We need a leader who can lead us, help us to become better stewards of our planet and all of its inhabitants. What an amazing and rewarding and horribly difficult job we must undertake.

“CLIMATE SUMMIT COMES TO SAN FRANCISCO”

Even though the U.S. has stepped out of the world-wide Climate Accord, Americans across our country are working tirelessly to live up to the commitments that were made in Paris. Every American has to choose where his or her loyalty lies. Do we stand for profit driven fossil fuel companies or with those who are working to create a safer, cleaner world for our children?

Being forthright will benefit our country...

It takes guts to print an anonymous article in the paper challenging the very administration you work for. I do not deny that being open about those concerns is dangerous. But, it takes true courage and commitment, to be forthright about concerns that effect everyone in our country.

Have we lost our vision of who we are?

We have supported capitalistic, greedy dictators in countries south of us. The government for profit model leaves people without jobs, food, and hope. Safety is non-existent. Families come to our doorstep seeking safety and justice and we lock them up. If we do not stand for justice, we have lost our vision of who we are.

The pot calling the kettle black...

The only difference between the anonymous Op. Ed. writer and Mr. Trump is that we know exactly who is tweeting accusations, blame, rude comments, name calling, and random U-turns on policy. Trump's anger is simply "the pot calling the kettle black".

All the deaths...

All the deaths, all the injured, and all the money spent hasn't made the world a safer, better place for anyone. When are humans going to learn? We need only compassion, justice, and equality to make the world safer for everyone. Killing, inequality, and greed are not the answer.

Selling women's reproductive rights!

This is feeling very personal to me. Using the Supreme Court to play partisan politics with women's reproductive rights and selling the seat on the Supreme Court to the highest bidder is what our Constitution hoped to avoid. I am so disappointed.

We will never forget, ...I promise!

One memory that comes to mind is the image of Senators crossing their arms and sealing their lips to keep President Obama from confirming a Supreme Court Justice. They looked like two-year-olds who didn't get a cookie. Now you are raving because Democrats won't help you confirm a Justice who refers to contraception as “abortion-inducing drugs". Women and their daughters and granddaughters will never forget that you put this man on the Supreme Court.

Don't sugar coat it!

This is not going to be an easy solution. We will all have to give up what we have grown accustomed to having,... a car for every errand. We must ask ourselves, "Is my car is more important than the health of the planet and its people". It cannot be "sugar coated"!

What problem could be worse than ruining our home? The wealthy and the greedy think it will not effect them, so many of them ignore it and continue making money. The rest of us can choose how we spend our money, keeping as much as possible out of the pockets of those who are part of the problem.
