We seem to have lost the feeling of being a united nation. I plan to send a postcard each day to our new President sharing what drives me through my days, what I want for this country, and what I want our nation to stand for. You are free to comment. I hope you will comment with generosity and civility. Please respect the intent of this effort. Thank you, Dianne

Guilt...
I wish to repeat something from my February 6th postcard:
"We, or I should say, I have no guilt for what happened from the 1400's on. That is a common refrain for those who do not want to take responsibility for the damage done by our ancestors. It is true. It wasn't me. But, knowing the injustice that was done and continues to be done, often in my name, makes me a party to the injustice. I am a citizen of the United States and I have benefited from injustice toward the First Peoples. I must work to correct the wrong or I am guilty."
This applies to all disenfranchised populations throughout our history. From the First Peoples of this land, the people we imported to be our slaves, and the people whose religion we unfairly target today, if we do not stand up to demand justice for all, we are guilty!
Sent on February 14 - Happy Valentines Day, the day of love.
